    Introduction:

    Voice mail system is a dialogue system between the taxpayer and the computer, which enable taxpayers to get important financial and tax information by phone.

     

    Project purpose

    The Project aims to provide income taxpayers with all relevant financial data by the phone, including decisions of classification, folding, answers and clearing. It also shows the income taxpayers account at Damascus Directorate of Finance, and helps taxpayers to get discounts or avoid charges or extra duties by providing their tax data immediately without getting them to appear personally at the Department.

     

    Connection lines

    Eight phone-lines have been devoted in Damascus Directorate of Finance, and have been connected to the main phone line, providing automatic shift among the lines to facilitate the users access.

     

    Connection steps

    1. taxpayer dials the above phone number.
    2. computer answers by a welcome message asking for the taxpayers number (which can be easily obtained from any previous receipt or other financial documents). The number consists of two parts: profession code (up to three digits) + profession registration number (up to five digits number), then taxpayer has to click (*) after the profession number.

    Computer starts listing the available inquiry choices as follows:

    1.      inquiry about the financial classification decision.

    2.      about total taxpayer account.

    3.      details of a certain charging year.

    4.      the folding decisions.

    5.      answers and clearing decisions.

    6.      general information and recommendations

    7.      exit the system.

     

    Voice mail choices list:

    1.      inquiry about the financial classification decision.

    2.      asking for the total taxpayer account.

    3.      inquiry about details of a certain charging year.

    4.      asking for the folding decisions.

    5.      inquiring about clearance and returns decisions.

    6.      general information and recommendations.

    7.      exit the system

    The taxpayer enters the number of required information by clicking the phone digit buttons, and when the computer finishes listing the information vocally, client can ask for another choice or simply exit the system.

    Note: its possible to exit the system anytime by hanging up.

    Example: lets suppose that a doctor, with the tax number 2150/41, wants to get his record. The part 41 indicates the profession number (doctors), and the part 2150 is his individual registration number at the financial departments.

     

    The doctor dials the phone number, and after hearing the welcome message, he will be required to enter the profession symbol which is (41) then click (*) then (2150) then (*). In case data is correct, computer will vocally list the above choices, and if the client wants to inquire about the classification decision content for example, he should simply press number (1).

     

    Alternatively, he can press 2 to get his total account information, or 3 for details of a certain year (in this case the computer will ask which year and the client should enter a 4-digits number such like 2001).
